What Is Airdrop?
Definition
An airdrop is a distribution of cryptocurrency tokens to multiple wallet addresses, typically used to reward early supporters, build community, or achieve decentralized token distribution.
A crypto airdrop sends free tokens to a list of wallet addresses. It's one of the most common distribution strategies for new tokens, used to bootstrap a community, reward early users, or achieve wide token distribution.
- Holder airdrops: Distribute to wallets that already hold a specific token (e.g., airdrop to all SOL holders)
- Activity-based airdrops: Reward users who performed specific actions (traded, voted, used a protocol)
- Community airdrops: Distribute to Discord members, Twitter followers, or early signup lists
- Retroactive airdrops: Reward past users of a protocol — Uniswap's UNI airdrop is the most famous example
To airdrop your token created on CoinDevTools, you'll need: 1. A list of recipient wallet addresses 2. Tokens in your wallet to distribute 3. A bulk transfer tool (like Sol-incinerator for Solana or Disperse.app for EVM)
The token itself is created on CoinDevTools. Distribution happens separately using the tools above or custom scripts.
